WASHINGTON (CN) - The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission is requiring plant operators to report any new information materially altering the basis for determining that construction permit inspections, tests, or analyses were performed as required, under a new rule.     The relevant permitting activities are inspections, tests, analyses, and acceptance criteria (ITAAC) under a combined license.     The new provisions apply after a nuclear plant operator has completed an ITAAC and submitted an ITAAC closure notification.     The provisions require operators to report new information materially altering the basis for determining that inspections, tests, or analyses were performed as required, or that acceptance criteria are met, and to notify the NRC of the completion of all ITAAC activities.     The rule is effective Sept. 27.     Click the document icon for this regulation and others.
