NEW ORLEANS (CN) - Former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin was charged today with 21 counts of corruption, including wire fraud, bribery and money laundering. The federal charges came in an investigation of City Hall that has brought guilty pleas from two former city officials and two businessmen. Nagin was elected in 2002 and got national exposure after Hurricane Katrina devastated the city in 2005. He was re-elected in 2006 and could not run for a third term because of term limits.
