DETROIT (CN) - A 20-year-old man killed himself after smoking "Spice" or "K-2" that he bought at a suburban gas station, his father claims in court. John Sdao, father of the late John Anthony Sdao, sued Makki & Abdallah Investments dba Mobil Gas Station, in Oakland County Court. Sdao claims his son committed suicide after taking the drug he bought at the Mobil station in Royal Oak. He also sued the John Doe Corporation that made the drug. Sdao says his son "was driven to commit suicide after ingesting a horribly toxic and dangerous product sold to him by defendant gas station, commonly known by the street name as 'Spice' or 'K-2.'" He killed himself on April 11, 2012. Sdao says the defendants knew the drug was illegal, and dangerous as "casualties related to the synthetic drugs have been well-publicized, such as the probable fatal overdoes of an 18-year-old in Bloomfield Township, and its link to the fatal attack on the Cipriano family in Farmington Hills." Both those cities, like Royal Oak, are suburbs of Detroit. Sdao seeks damages for gross negligence and other charges. He is represented by Jonathan Marko with the Rasor Law Firm, of Royal Oak.
